I've been coming here for the past 4 days straight and i haven't had a single complaint. Everyone is very nice and service is top tier! Not expensive either
This place is much more than a simple taqueria. There are SO many menu options and they are all fresh and delicious. Home made tortillas, great salsa, huge Texas sized servings and aguas frescas too! They are open late and have very attentive staff. They offer catering and also sell carry out trays for large parties. Call for pricing on large party trays as they have several options to choose from and again with huge portions per person. If you like good authentic Mexican food then you must give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
Great food I recommend I got the chilaquiles with beef .. they a small queso with chips and salsa with an amazing Horchata drink
I really like the way the Menudo taste. You are going to pick up some to go I recommend you to order ahead of time because they make everything fresh unless you wanna wait. I like this place a lot because they flavor their food properly and they season it with salt which is something that I really like some restaurants don't but this one does.
The food was delicious. I got the Gorditas and Pupusas! Great customer service! Good parking!
I was in the neighborhood for the annual Dia de los Muertos festival at Hidalgo Park. I was craving some Mexican food. There's a lot of food trucks in the area but wanted a place where we can sit with the kids. Taqueria el Sol was less than 5 minutes from the park. Not much parking so it can be hard to find a spot. At first I was skeptical about this place because their menu has like over 100 dishes. I ordered a torta de fajita and 3 tacos( al pastor, fajita and barbacoa). When the dishes came out , all of the meat was steaming hot and food was fresh. The seasoning on all the meats were on point. I enjoyed every bit. We also ordered a plate that included 2 enchiladas de fajita, an amazing crispy bistec (thin beef steak). The bistec was the highlight. I had that crispy sear but still soft inside. This is very hard to accomplish. The enchiladas were also delicious. They had a cheese sauce but it wasn't too pungent. The meats were a little greasy but nothing that took away from the taste. Even the rice was good. I also have to compliment the waitresses, who were excellent and always made sure we had everything we needed. Great experience at Taqueria el Sol de Mexico. FYI portions are big, including the tacos, so don't over order.
Tacos! Open late! Good hot sauce! This was near our Air BnB in Houston and very convenient. All we wanted was a la cart tacos and this place fit the bill. They did mix up the number of each type that we ordered, minus one star for that, but we liked them all and didn't make an issue.
